Giugiaro gives the Europa a dash of exactly
what it needed
Automobile Quarterly 1973
As mentioned earlier, at the Turin show last year Ital Design displayed a very striking wedge-shaped coupe draped around the running gear of the Lotus Europa. The interior is perhaps the car's outstanding feature, offering a vast amount of room and extraordinary visibility. The instruments beautifully designed, by the way reside in a flattened pod placed in front of the driver, leaving the rest of the interior for the occupants to be really comfortable in. If you ever sat in a Europa you'll realise what an enormous improvement this is. Colin Chapman intends to put the car into production, for introduction during 1974. We wish him luck. As you can see, it looks pretty good on the outside too.
