Alex Bell's 2000
Alex Bell from Middlewich, UK, owns a 2000 GT3 in Metallic Green, with a Black interior.
Model:
GT3 Year: 2000 Colour: Metallic Green Interior: Black Driving Style: Normal Miles per year: 4,000 – 8,000 Owned Since: 2006 Purchase from: Christopher Neil Serviced at: Christopher Neil Other Cars: Volvo S60 D5, Kawasaki ZRX1200R Previous Lotus': None Why an Esprit: I have always admired the esprit, particularly the stevens version. To me the car is a proper sports car shape because when its parked it still looks like its doing 100mph. I have had the car a short time but I think its going to be a long term relationship. This GT3 was the last one off the production line, and so its the last ever 4 cylinder esprit made. A special design, a special car, and so its the best buy I have made to date. Upgrades: The original pioneer stereo has been upgraded to a new Becker Grand Prix. Its a great set with blue tooth connectivity and a dash mounted mike, enabling simple connection of my bluetooth mobile. The sound through the car speakers is really good. I have also fitted a BOV from PNM engineering (using the guide on LEW). It sounds sweet and power delivery on gear shifts is smoother now. Problems: The inside of the catalytic converter disintegrated and so has been sent away for refurb. CN fixing it under warranty.
Oil Sump Drain hole leak, perished washer, CN fixed it with no charge.
Locator for jack came off due to corrosion.
The refurbed catalytic converter has been put back on during the C-service its just had.Info: Still learning to drive the esprit, it has so much to offer, just need dry sunny days to find out what it really can do.
